Animal Refuge Furness

**Animal Refuge Furness** Registered Charity Number: 1021803. Animal Refuge Furness, based in Barrow-in-Furness, has been committed to animal welfare for over 30 years. As a registered charity, we work to find new homes for stray and abandoned animals in the Barrow area. **Dogs:** We support the dogs in the Barrow Borough Pound. When a dog is brought to the pound by the local council, they must keep it for seven days. After this period, any dogs that have not been claimed by their owners can be legally euthanised. To prevent this, Animal Refuge covers all expenses for these dogs after the initial seven days. Unfortunately, local councils across the UK euthanise thousands of dogs each year. **Cats:** We also care for many cats waiting for new homes, some of which have been with us for years. You can come and meet them at the shelter. Any help you can provide will be deeply appreciated by our animals.
