Animal Krackers is a registered charity based in Sunderland that focuses on rescuing and rehoming lost and abandoned cats, kittens, and dogs in the Tyne & Wear and Durham areas. Since our founding in 2002, we have ensured that all cats and dogs are vet-checked, neutered, and vaccinated before placing them in new homes. Established by Andrea Parkin and Susan Hardy, Animal Krackers became a registered charity within two years. Over the years, we have assisted numerous other rescue organisations and partnered with various entities, becoming well-known in the region for our rescue services. We primarily cover the Sunderland area, Washington, Durham, and occasionally Newcastle and South Tyneside. Animal Krackers operates with a dedicated team of volunteers; there are no paid employees. We rely on the generosity of our community and donations from the public. Our charity shop, located in Grangetown, Sunderland, serves as a valuable source of income to support the care of our animals.
